Steve Parris, Pastor

Pastor Steve was raised in St. Cloud, Florida.  Upon graduation from high school, he attended Florida State University.  He is still a diehard Seminole fan.  During his year at Florida State, he felt God’s call to the gospel ministry.  He transferred to Stetson University in Deland, which was affiliated with the Florida Baptist Convention at the time, where he received a B.A.  He then attended The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky, graduating with a Master of Divinity degree.  During college and seminary, Pastor Steve served several churches as a part-time Youth Minister.  After seminary, he served as Youth Minister at the First Baptist Church of Homestead, Florida.  Following his ministry there, he served as the Pastor of the First Baptist Church of Sunrise, Florida, and then as the Pastor of Lighthouse Baptist Church in North Palm Beach, Florida.  In 2005 Pastor Steve and his family moved to Ormond Beach, Florida.  He was employed by Halifax Health Healthy Communities from 2005-2020.  He also served part-time as the Associate Pastor of Music at Rima Ridge from 2009-2016.

Pastor Steve and his wife, Heidi, are excited and honored to be back at Rima Ridge, as together we worship and serve our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Skip Crowell, Worship Leader

Skip Crowell joined the staff at Rima Ridge in March, 2017,  after being a Music Director in several churches in various states over the years.  He and his wife Pam have enjoyed living in Florida for about 20 years and are getting to know so many of the wonderful folks here in the church family.  Pam is a Science Teacher in Port Orange and helps with the  hospitality at Rima Ridge.  Skip grew up with a love for traditional church hymns and gospel songs but also plays the guitar and enjoys so many of the modern praise and worship songs that we hear on Christian Radio today.  His desire is to have a well rounded music program geared to attract the next generation that we need to reach out to while keeping alive our Baptist musical heritage.

Skip and Pam have 4 grown children and 4 grandchildren.

Sue Christenson, Administrative Assistant, Media

Sue comes from a small town in upstate New York where, as a child she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Saviour while attending a summer Bible camp.  She served her country in the United States Navy, retiring as a Lieutenant Commander.  Upon returning to civilian life Sue served for fourteen years as church secretary at Pomerado Road Baptist Church in Poway, CA.  After relocating to Ormond Beach she and her husband, Art joined Rima Ridge Baptist Church where she became church secretary.  Sue states, “I thank God for the privilege of serving Him and my church family at Rima Ridge Baptist Church.”

Marie Jordan, Pianist

I was born and raised in New York. and moved to Ormond Beach Fl in 1984.  I have two children and four grandchildren. I can't remember a time when I didn't read music and play the piano, and at 10 years old, I started 11 years of formal piano lessons.  I also played a little guitar and sang in the teen choir at church, and sang and played piano accompaniment for my high school choirs. I have been a piano teacher since 1988. I started teaching music at Little Blessings Pre-School in 2010.  In July 2008 I began playing the piano for Rima Ridge Baptist Church.
